Knife skills course

The index finger of my left hand is missing a small chunk. Are we downhearted? No. I´ve signed up for a knife skills course.

I can slice and dice with more panache than precision, and pretty quickly, but there comes a time when one must be able to tackle brunoise, julienne, baton, batonets, chiffonades. In order to never do them, probably, but what fun.

My hubby teaches knife skills courses at Toronto's The Cookbook Store. Too bad you aren't closer!

Hmmm... A good ninja should also be well-versed on the art of "knivery" (as well as that of knavery) methinks. However, this ninja's rather heavy-handed (manos de mantequilla).

Would love to hear how it went. I'm sure you'll be a super skilled chop-chopper yourself after the course.

    (long time) ninja reader/lurker :)

PS I agree with the above: valiente indeed!

Dana: too bad. let´s hope this one isn´t so bad
    Guru: ya te digo!
Ninja: my nickname was always "manos de cazo", so let´s hope I come out of this with all my fingers and toes.

    :) !suerte!

how interesting that these expressions denoting clumsiness ("manos de xxx") all originate from the kitchen and/or cooking, "non"?
very appropriate in this setting, really!
